Set Up Notifications So You Never Miss a Break
The point of a timer is to forget about it. Notifications make that possible: Tomatoro tells you the moment a session or break ends, so you don't have to keep one eye on the clock.
Turn them on
When you can enable notifications, Tomatoro shows a small "Get a notification when the countdown ends" banner above the timer. Tap Enable, then Allow in your browser's permission prompt. That's it — you'll get an alert each time a session wraps.
Per-platform notes
- Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Firefox): allow notifications when prompted, and keep the tab open — even in the background.
- Android: allow notifications in the browser prompt; installing Tomatoro as an app makes them even more reliable.
- iPhone / iPad: Safari only delivers notifications to installed web apps. Add Tomatoro to your Home Screen first, open it from there, then enable notifications.
This technique works better with the right tool. Tomatoro handles the timing so you can stay locked in. Free to use, always.
Try it nowNot seeing the prompt?
If the banner never appears, you may have dismissed or blocked notifications earlier. Open your browser's site settings for Tomatoro, set notifications back to Allow, and reload. On iOS, double-check you opened the installed app, not the Safari tab.
