Learn how to make the most of your focus sessions with Tomatoro.

Welcome to Tomatoro

Tomatoro is a minimal, PWA-ready Pomodoro timer designed for users who want complete control over their attention. Here is how you can set up and use the platform for maximum productivity.

1. How it Works

The Pomodoro Technique is simple: work with full focus for 25 minutes, then take a short 5-minute break. After 4 focus blocks, take a longer 15-minute break. Tomatoro comes pre-configured with these standard durations, but you can customize them in your account settings.

2. Installing the PWA

You can install Tomatoro directly onto your PC, tablet, or phone. Click the 'Install App' icon in your browser's address bar (on Chrome, Edge, or Brave) or select 'Add to Home Screen' from the sharing menu on Safari/iOS. Once installed, Tomatoro runs inside its own standalone window.

3. History & Multi-device Syncing

If you use Tomatoro anonymously, your session history is stored locally in your browser. To sync your session logs, track long-term progress, and customize categories and tasks across all your devices, simply sign in with your email. We use secure, passwordless one-time passcodes (OTP).

4. Background-Safe Timer Accuracy

Most browser-based timers lose accuracy or pause when their tab is backgrounded or minimized because browsers throttle background JavaScript execution. Tomatoro runs its clock calculations inside a dedicated Web Worker thread, keeping the timer 100% accurate down to the millisecond.
