Tomatoro Premium: When Is It Worth It?

Premium isn't for everyone. Here's an honest take on when it's worth paying for and when Free covers what you need.

Free covers the core

Free gives you the full timer, customizable durations, sync across devices, and 7 days of history with a daily chart. For someone using Pomodoro day-to-day without long-term tracking, that's enough.

Premium is for habit-building

The pitch is simple: 30-day reports instead of 7-day, and 360 days of data retention instead of 90.

That matters when:

  • You're trying to establish a new focus habit and want to see if you're trending up over months
  • You want to spot patterns ("I'm productive on Tuesdays, dead on Thursdays")
  • You're proving to yourself — or a coach, or a therapist — that the time investment is paying off

If your relationship with deep work is project-based and short-term, none of that matters. Stick with Free.

The honest cost

Premium is a single monthly subscription. Cancel any time from the Account page. If you cancel mid-month, you keep Premium until the period ends, then drop back to Free. Your old data over the 90-day Free window gets cleaned up on the next maintenance run.
